Mary Flieller

Mary Flieller and her husband Eric live in North Carolina, where they have raised their family. After attending Sacred Heart and Floresville High School, Mary graduated from St. Mary’s University and earned an MBA from Virginia Tech.

Experiencing different cultures and people have been a big part of Mary’s life. In addition to living in various locations in the US and in The Netherlands, Mary traveled extensively for work. Embracing new and different ways, and respecting others who are different are important values Mary and Eric taught their children.

Since retiring from a career in communications, Mary joined the board of Maasai Girls Rescue Center, an innovative nonprofit helping the disadvantaged Maasai girls of Tanzania. She and Eric enjoys time with each other and their family. Mary and Eric continue to travel, look for new experiences and take time to appreciate nature in all its forms.

How long did you attend SHCS?

I attended Sacred Heart, 1st grade through 8th grade, graduating in 1971.

What did you like best?

Overall, I liked the sense of community and belonging. Looking back, I believe Sacred Heart School (as well as my parents) encouraged me to work hard work, try new things and offer a helping hand to those in need.

What is your fondest memory about attending SHCS?

I have many fond memories of Sacred Heart. One that comes to mind centers around the Christmas Carol, a play the entire school participated in from building and painting props to acting out the story. Lots of fun!

Why would you recommend SHSC?

I would recommend Sacred Heart School to anyone who wishes to have their children learn and thrive in a loving, giving environment that promotes tolerance, diversity and respect for all views.

Donna was born and raised in Floresville Texas.  She, along with her three siblings, all graduated from Sacred Heart School and they all went on to graduate from St Mary’s University.

Donna and her siblings grew up with parents that lived the example of getting involved in the community: Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart School, 4-H Clubs, Wilson County Showbarn, and many more organizations.

Donna and her husband, Jim, raised three children and traveled the USA while Jim proudly served 20 years in the USAF and another 20 years with Federal Express. They returned to Floresville 14 years ago and live on a farm not far from where Donna grew up. They proudly support the mission of Sacred Heart School. They stay busy with their family which includes nine grandchildren and lots of activities.

How long did you attend SHCS?

I attended Sacred Heart, 1st grade through 8th grade, graduating in 1973.

What did you like best?

The class size was smaller than public school and that afforded us to get to know everyone in our class.  I still keep up with several of my Sacred Heart classmates and alumni that were both older and younger than me.

What is your fondest memory about attending SHCS?

No doubt my fondest memory includes by second grade teacher, Miss Signa Bundrick.
She was nurturing and loving like no other teacher.  She used to tell us that she would “swell up like a bullfrog” with pride over us, her students.  I later became a Special Education teacher and her sweet spirit guided me with my students.

Why would you recommend SHCS?

SHCS is a place for God, education, parent participation, friendships and community service.  The family-oriented setting is crucial to the development of loving, productive and involved  citizens.

Clinton Wyatt

Clinton was born and raised on the family cattle ranch in Floresville, TX with his three siblings, all of whom attended Sacred Heart.

He was taught from an early age to care for the land and the animals first, and they will care for you. Grit and hard work allowed the ranch to grow and flourish into what it is today where Clinton still works with his parents ranching and preconditioning cattle.

He has an entrepreneurial mindset, which has allowed him to start and grow many additional successful cattle and construction companies locally.  Clinton and his wife Heather, have three children who attend Sacred Heart. Clinton and Heather also believe in investing in the next generation, and proudly support Sacred Heart Catholic School and other local youth organizations. Any downtime as a family is spent horseback riding, camping, hunting, and traveling.

How long did you attend SHCS and what grade levels?

5 years- Kindergarten-4th Grade

What did you like best?

The foundation it gave me both morally and educationally.

What is your fondest memory about attending SHCS?

While we may not have been mixed grade levels in class, it felt like a mixed congregation with the older and younger kids active in each other’s education and experiences.  I feel like this pushed the younger kids while also providing valuable mentorship for the older kids.

Why would you recommend SHCS?

The faith based educational foundation kids gain from Sacred Heart is unmatched locally.  Respect, values, and integrity are still strong components in the classroom every day.  This will give kids the building blocks they need to excel through life.
